Water-Damage Reconstruction in San Diego: What Happens After Mitigation
Once water mitigation is complete, the next stage is putting your home back together. Certified Construction Services Inc provides residential reconstruction and remodeling throughout San Diego County, with careful scope planning, trade coordination, and attention to the finishes you live with every day.
Reconstruction starts with a clear repair scope
Mitigation and reconstruction address different stages of a loss. Our work focuses on rebuilding after mitigation. We review the affected areas and available mitigation documentation, then identify the repairs needed before coordinating construction. A written scope helps distinguish the work required to restore damaged areas from changes you would like to make at the same time.
What the rebuilding work may include
Depending on the affected rooms and agreed scope, repairs may include drywall and paint, flooring, cabinetry, countertops, tile, and finish details. Plumbing and electrical work may also need coordination. Material selections and how new finishes meet existing surfaces are important decisions to discuss early.
Insurance documentation and owner-selected upgrades
We use Xactimate to prepare detailed estimates and repair scopes, document necessary work, develop supplements, and discuss scope differences with insurance adjusters. Insurance coverage and payment decisions remain subject to your insurer and policy. We keep optional upgrades separate from insurance-related repairs so you can understand the additional work you are choosing.
Questions to discuss before rebuilding
Can I remodel during reconstruction? Yes. A repair project can be an opportunity to update a kitchen, bathroom, or other finishes. Discuss those choices early so they can be scoped, priced, and coordinated separately.
What should I have ready? Bring mitigation documentation, photographs of the affected areas, and any insurer estimate you have received. Tell us which existing finishes you would like to retain and which improvements you are considering.
What determines the schedule? The repair scope, material availability, required approvals, and trade coordination all affect sequencing. We discuss these details for your specific project instead of promising a one-size-fits-all completion time.
